A world to discover
Formentera has a winemaking industry dating back to the 13th century and has several vineyards – including Terra Moll and Cap de Barbaría – where tours and tastings can be arranged. Sunset at the Cap de Barbaría lighthouse – named for Africa’s nearby Barbary Coast – is an atmospheric end to the day.
Charming markets can be found across the island, including the weekly hippie market at La Mola and the nightly craft market in the pretty coastal resort of Es Pujols. Formentera’s charming capital, Sant Francesc, is home to a lively pavement café scene, excellent shopping and fabulous fortified 17th century church.
